Palimpsests
A palimpsest is a thing used and altered which over time becomes a physical embodiment of its own history.
These are ongoing works, revisited and reworked again and again over time. These works are completely unrestricted and may contain any media from hi-lighter to collage. In them viewer can see themes and media that have interested and influneced me, find connections between individual pieces, and see the way my work and practice have evolved over time.
These often begin as sketchbook pages. They tend to be worked on both sides and in conjunction with neighboring pages. Eventually the sketchbook is taken apart and pages might worked more individually or in association with completely different works from completely different sketchbooks.
